This was a difficult project for me at first, I took a few e-mails for me to understand the integration of concept mapping and how to successfully use it within the classroom. It was a good experience to realize how concept mapping is a great idea to incorporate into a lesson to understand what students do or do not know about a topic. It lets students discuss, brainstorm, and explore ideas on a topic. I really do plan on using this within the classroom to assess how much information students will need in order to be successfully educated on a topic.

Description of the ‘relative advantage’ of any and all technology being used in this instructional activity: Describe how technology is more helpful than time consuming in completing this instructional activity; why use technology in this activity at all? This technology is really helpful because it presents and reviews information in an exciting and interactive way so students are not doing a mundane quiz or test and it gets students to interact together if paired in groups and interact with other groups. Also it speeds up time whether done individually or in groups because the teacher does not have to hand out multiple papers for students to have to turn in and this activity creates a fun atmosphere for learning instead of a stressful environment. Students concentrate on the excitement of playing a game and learning instead of worrying about a test grade. | |
